What Should You Do in a Dental Emergency?
Tooth Avulsion (Knocked-Out Tooth)
If a tooth is completely knocked out, act quickly:
●   Rinse the tooth gently with water — do not scrub or remove any tissue fragments.
●   If possible, place the tooth back in its socket or keep it in a container with milk or saline.
●   Contact our office immediately. We can provide urgent care to help save the tooth.
Dental Abscess
If you notice swelling, pain, or a pimple-like bump on your gums:
●   Rinse your mouth with warm salt water to help reduce discomfort.
●   Avoid pressing on the abscess or attempting to drain it yourself.
●   Call our office as soon as possible. We can provide incision and drainage (I&D) and start treatment to prevent the infection from spreading.
Emergency Tooth Infection or Severe Toothache
If you experience severe tooth pain, fever, or swelling:
●   Take over-the-counter pain relievers as needed.
●   Avoid chewing on the affected side.
●   Contact our office immediately — we’re ready to provide care to manage pain, treat the infection, and protect your smile.
